More and more people are curious about finding an Internet work-from-home job.  However, the Internet is quite a big place.  To make matters worse, there are reports all the time of scam artists who want nothing more than to fleece the unwary.  All the same, Internet jobs are a great way to juggle your home life and continue to make money.  The big question is, where to start?

Don’t rely on following up on spam emails.  While there may be some honest employers using automated mailings to get new employees, they’re far outnumbered by the frauduent employers.  They can and will part you with your money and leave you with nothing.  If you’re really curious about a spam offer, do a Google search on the company’s name.

Don’t bother with going through job search sites such as Careerbuilder.com or Monster.com.  These websites mean well, but especially in the areas involving Internet and work-at-home jobs, these sites are saturated with scam artists.  Job search sites really don’t have the means to keep up with the sheer frequency of fraud postings.  This sort of thing happens when racing to be the largest database of available jobs.  Unfortunately, many local newspapers’ online classified ads are powered by these sites.

Unfortunately, the same is true with online classified advertising.  While they do what they can to prevent fraudulent postings, Craigslist and sites like it can only remove postings after the fact of them being posted.  Use your common sense.

The best way to avoid the trap of fraudulent online job opportunities is to use Google or another search engine.  You can quickly find the legitimate opportunities and simultaneously see the fraud reports on the scam businesses.  As anywhere else on the Internet, just keep your common sense.  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
